Expense Summary Archives:
2009, 2010, 2011, 2012
- Campground fees are controlled by workamping, boondocking and/or staying in one spot for longer periods.
- Rate reflects full-timer's policy.
- Only Cynthia is covered by life insurance. Jerry is not eligible.
- We have an Android phone for cell service and Mobile Hot Spot internet.
- Our household has Satellite TV, an extra receiver is $7 per month.
- RV Clubs are Good Sam (3 yrs), Passport America (3 yrs) and Coach-Net (1 yr).
- Groceries are food and any household items purchased at Walmart. Also includes dining out.
- Movies, park admissions and other "touristy" things. Our entertainment is primarily our hobbies and all the equipment to do them is already paid for.
- Allows our mail to be sent to us wherever we may be. Annual plus any postage used.
- Miscellaneous is unexpected minor expenses, shortages in other areas, ministry supplies, etc.
*We both have health care coverage. For privacy reasons, we don't disclose the details. We also do not list big ticket purchases we make for the same reason.
We sold our truck and travel trailer in May and purchased a Class C motorhome. The fuel cost for May was driving to Houston and back. The RV maintenance was upgrades and mods we did to the motorhome. We sold the scooter and the enclosed trailer and bought a Jeep Cherokee 4x4. Categories have been renamed to reflect these changes.

Hello Jerry and Cynthia. You are living the life I want. I also do not
want to wait until I am too old. My last cjild will graduate in 4 years.
My goal is to take off then. I will not have alot of money but I intend to
workamp. I'm saving for my rig which will be a small class C. Friends and
family say I'm crazy. I don't agree. I think alot of people would love to
lead this life but are afraid. Life is too short and we only get one
chance. I'm going to go for it. Would love to hear from you. Tammy

I am fulltiming and the RV park we are in now has free cable, but we will
not be here for ever. How do you get Sat. TV for only 7 dollars a month?
Jerry

I second the question on the "SatTv". I understand that only pay for an
extra receiver, but exactly what is "SatTv"...is this a streaming service
or something along those lines?
Jerry

SatTV is short for satellite TV.
Garrad

I understand this now, it's an extra receiver off of an account that is at
your stick built home.

How many miles did you travel?
Jerry
31 Dec 2011, 11:43
We were stationary for the full year, workamping in the RGV. All mileage
was for sightseeing trips, going out, one mad dash to Houston and back,
etc. The total mileage for 2011 between all vehicles was 4,082.

Jerry, enjoy the comments here. We fulltimed for 10 years and visited most
of the USA. We purchased a 38' motorhome on consignment lot. Our travels
have slowed the last couple of years as Jo Ann had back surgery, left hip
and then this past summer right hip replaced. We offset camp fee by
workcamping. We were weekend host in Mission for 4 years, 1 year at Cuttys,
Coldale CO. and 2 years in Southfork CO. I enjoy comparing out budget with
yours to see where we can improve.
